Monday 20th June 2022, Halle, Germany –

Gerald Charles congratulates Hubert Hurkacz for winning the ATP 500 in Halle, Germany, wearing the Gerald Charles GC Sport watch, with the green strap exclusively for this occasion. Yesterday, Sunday 19th of June, the world No.10 tennis player won his first ATP 500 title on grass. On his wrist, for the duration of the two-set match against the No.1 seed Daniil Medvedev, was the Gerald Charles GC Sport. Gerald Charles is very proud to have Hubert Hurkacz in the Gerald Charles family. “On behalf of the whole Gerald Charles family, I want to extend our sincerest congratulations to Hubert and his team on his win in Halle Open,” says Federico Ziviani, Gerald Charles General Manager. “Hubert is already one of the biggest names in professional tennis with a hugely exciting future ahead of him. We’re delighted to have him in the Gerald Charles family. As a friend of our Maison, he contributed to the testing and development of the watch for use on the tennis court. We made some changes during development, upgrading the design so it was even better for professional tennis, and creating a watch to wear all day, on and off the court.” The innovative GC Sport, which is based on Monsieur Genta’s Maestro case, features the screw-down crown on the left side and it’s been designed to be ergonomic and supremely comfortable.

The ultra-thin watch is just 8mm thick and yet in keeping with the Gerald Charles standard is water-resistant to 100 metres. Inside it is the GCA3002 Manufacture automatic movement, developed in partnership between Gerald Charles’s in-house engineers and the specialist high-end Swiss movement creator Vaucher Fleurier. This highly accurate, robust movement required little adjustment for the GC Sport, despite the demands placed on it during a professional tennis match. At 6’ 5” and with a fearsome serve, 25-year-old Hubert has established himself as a regular among the world’s top 20 ranked tennis players and has now picked up five titles since he turned pro in 2015. Born in Poland, he started playing tennis when he was five, encouraged by his mother, a former junior champion in their home country. “Hubi”, as he’s known affectionately, is a fierce competitor but a gentleman on and off the court. His win in Halle Open takes him to a career high ranking of No.10.
